Travel to Marthas Vineyard
Martha's Vineyard, our bucolic 89.48 sq. mile island, sits just seven miles off the south eastern coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Accessible only by air and water, its remote location may necessitate some additional travel planning, but those seven miles of clear blue separation give Martha's Vineyard a romantic, far-and-away feeling that locals and seasonal residents have come to love.
Martha's Vineyard's numerous seasonal fast ferries supplement the Steamship Authority's year round service, making travel by boat a convenient option. The Steamship Authority departs from Woods Hole, MA and serves both Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs harbors, but fast ferries are accessible from a variety of destinations including Falmouth, Hyannis, Quonset, RI, and even Manhattan.
For quick, efficient travel to Martha's Vineyard, Cape Air offers a year round schedule of daily flights between the island and Boston, White Plains, NY,and Nantucket. A variety of air charter services are also available.
When traveling to Martha's Vineyard it is wise to book ferry and air reservations well in advance of your travel dates, as flights and ferries will fill months ahead of the peak summer season. Please ask your ferry or airline service for any pertinent travel details or requirements. Many require advance check-in, often a minimum of thirty minutes prior to departure.
